Senior Fellowship in the Field of Fine Arts

Scheme Description
  1. Scheme by the Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department, Government of Gujarat, aims to nurture artistic talent and provide financial support for experimental, research-based, or revival-focused projects in the fields of painting, sculpture, and graphic arts.
  2. The scheme benefits both junior and senior artists of Gujarat by awarding them monthly stipends, thereby helping them undertake advanced training, revive endangered Indian or folk arts, and develop their careers in art.
Eligibility
  1. The applicant should be a resident artist of Gujarat.
  2. The applicant should be actively engaged in the field of painting, sculpture, or graphic arts.

Implementing AgenciesImplemented by the Gujarat State Fine Arts Academy.
Scheme DetailsUnder this scheme, 5 senior artists will be provided with a monthly stipend of ₹3,000/ and 10 junior artists will be provided with a monthly stipend of ₹2,000/- for one year.

Financial Assistance to Helpless Artists

Scheme DescriptionThe scheme aims to provide financial security to artists who are aged, physically disabled, and living in extreme poverty.
Eligibility
  1. The applicant must be a resident of Gujarat.
  2. The applicant must be an artist who has made significant contributions in the field of art and literature.
  3. The applicant must be 60 years of age or above.
  4. The applicant must have a monthly income of less than ₹600/- (₹7,200/- annually).
  5. The applicant must be physically disabled.
  6. The applicant must be in poor economic condition.

Financial Assistance to Destitute Elderly and Disabled Person

Scheme DescriptionWelfare scheme by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department of Gujarat. The scheme aims to support economically vulnerable elderly individuals and persons with severe disabilities.
Eligibility
  1. Aged 60 years or more and does not have a son aged 21 years or above.
  2. Or, aged 45 years or more and has a disability of more than 75%.
  3. OR, listed in the BPL category (Score 0–20) in rural areas or included in the urban BPL list.
  4. Annual Family Income must be: ₹1,20,000 or less for rural residents and ₹1,50,000 or less for urban residents.

Award of Fellowship to Most Eminent Artist

Scheme Description
  1. Scheme by the Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department, Government of Gujarat, aims to recognize and financially assist artists aged 60 years or above who have retired from professional artistic practice and have made distinguished contributions in the field of plastic arts at the national level.
  2. The fellowship is intended to support such artists by enabling them to acquire necessary equipment and continue contributing meaningfully to the arts.
Eligibility
  1. The applicant should be an artist.
  2. The applicant must be 60 years or older.
  3. The applicant should be retired from the professional field of plastic arts.
  4. The applicant should have attained national-level fame and established a distinct identity through excellence in painting, sculpture, or graphic arts.

Scheme DetailsIn this scheme, 10 artists are given a monthly fellowship of ₹5,000/- for one year, and it is extendable for a maximum of two years, depending on the quality and impact of the artist’s continued work.

Antyeshthi Sahay Yojana

Scheme Description
  1. Welfare scheme launched by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Gujarat.
  2. The scheme aims to support the families of deceased senior citizens who were beneficiaries of old-age assistance.
  3. Upon the death of such a senior citizen, a one-time financial aid is provided to the legal heir to help cover funeral and related expenses

  1. The applicant must be a resident of Gujarat.
  2. The applicant must be the heir of a deceased senior citizen.
  3. The deceased must have been a beneficiary of old-age assistance

Scheme Details
  1. One-time financial assistance of ₹5,000/- is provided to the heirs of a senior citizen who was receiving old-age assistance at the time of their death.
